Mr. Mariano is an entrepreneur and businessman with 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. During the 1990’s he founded Strategic Outsourcing Inc., a professional staffing company with over $1 billion in sales, which was sold to Union Planters Bank (Regions Bank, NYSE). His success with SOI earned him a finalist position for the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1999. In 2003, Mr. Mariano founded Patriot National Insurance Group, Inc., a diversified insurance holding company with assets including Guarantee Insurance Company, a leading provider of traditional and alternative market workers compensation insurance products, and Patriot Underwriters, a national managing general agency which produces, underwrites and administers alternative market and traditional workers’ compensation insurance plans for insurance companies, segregated cell captives and reinsurers. In addition, Mr. Mariano is the founder of Patriot Risk Services, a URAC-accredited provider of fee-based care management, captive consulting, bill review, network development and other claims related services to multiple insurance carriers. In 2011, Mr. Mariano sold Patriot Risk Services to Boston-based MCMC, LLC for $105 million.
Mr. Mariano is very active in the south Florida community and is involved in numerous charitable and development organizations, including the CEO Council of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Broward County's official public/private partnership for economic development. Mr. Mariano also served as the Chairman of the 2010 and 2011 Broward Heart Ball to benefit the American Heart Association. He also serves on the board of directors of Paradox Technology Solutions, Inc., which provides technology solutions for insurers and financial services firms.
Mr. Mariano is the proud father of 5 children, ages 13 to 20. He and his family reside in Fort Lauderdale.
